Low Vision Aids Practice—the book is related to the eye examination and management of the patients having visual impairments. Visual impaired persons are defined as having a vision loss which interferes with everyday tasks, e.g. reading newspaper, looking at photographs or recognize faces for which there is no conventional surgical or therapeutic treatment. Age related macular degeneration accounts nearly for half of all cases, followed by cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, retinitis pigmentosa and others. These patients have impaired vision which adversely affects their visual performance. In fact their residual vision can be effectively utilized to make them independent by a low vision specialist optometrist. Low vision has long been neglected sub specialty and has been kept secret for long. But things have changed now; practitioners have realized the importance of this science and started exploring the benefits out of this.
